Could you give us some more information?
Are you doing electric or acoustic guitar?
Are you recording with a mic or direct in?
If a mic, what kind of mic? Are you using a preamp? Where are you recording?
Why does your recording sound like balls? What about it is it lacking?
Also, a lot of your sound will have to do with EQ'ing and adding effects after the recording has been done.
If you answer these questions, I think you should be able to get some good feedback from the people here.
Also, a lot of people are going to frown upon using FL Studio as an audio recording engine. Not really the best interface for that. |

Like luminance said, more information is needed, but i'll stab in the dark.
Firstly, if your using electric guitar an just plug it into your Soundcard, then it will sound pants..
You need to buy a DI box (i think the behringer ones are quite cheap) and then from there put it in ya sound card.
To record in FL studio (from version 4 onwards (i think))
open up your mixer
at the top right of the screen you should see a box that says input, Then select either line in or Mic in, strum and see if it works!
**note** if you've got a high latency then have fun trying to record in time (i cant play with delay at all!
If your recording acoustically, I've no idea.
I presume it would be the same kinda proccess, a DI box again with a mic as the input for that.
One thing i noticed while recording electric guitar straight into FL is its issue with 48khz recordings and horrendus artifacts left on the recording. Try altering the sample rate, and see if that makes any difference.[/i] |

| In FL, the FX screen has an input and output. Set the input to the name of your sound interface (what you plug guitar into) most likely. |
