useing method 1 do you need the instremental version and the original version of a tune for this to work???

You need the original Instrumental and the original mix. Both have to be identical when the vocal occurs. That also means the BPM of the track.

There's a lot more to be said about stems in the mastering process, but that would require 5 hours to communicate with some satisfaction. Smilie_PDT

The same here ^^

I always got a horrible sound and a very unperfect acapella. I surely do something wrong and I'll practice to make it better.

Anyway, thanks for the tutorial !

referring to CEP:

a mistake a lot of people make is "applying TOO MUCH noise reduction". I can't stand those DIYs. It's ok if you hear a lil bit of the drums cause when you remix it, all the drums from the pella will be covered by the new beat you giving it. If you can't get a GOOD/MIXABLE DIY out of a song then DON'T DO IT!!!!

besides noise reduction, I also use the following. EQ, Hiss Reduction, FFT Filter.

I've been trying the phase cancellation method for ages but I can't get the audio to match up perfectly, is there a program that will do it for me?
